The Spirit-Red qualified for NSA "A" Nationals by placing 2nd at the Missouri State NSA Championship.  The Spirit-Red returns to Chattanooga, Tennessee where it last played in 2005 as a 12U team. 

Results:

Pool Game #1 v. Streamwood Magic (Chicago, IL) - The Spirit-Red overcame some early adversity before finding their stride in a 5-1 win over the Magic.  With the Spirit holding a slim 2-1 lead, Jessica Nieder blasted a two-run 215' homer over the left-center fence at Frost Stadium.  Pitcher, Cassie Rupel, then shut down the Magic to help the Spirit advance to the championship game in their pool.   


Pool Game #2 v. Diamond State Swoop (DE) - The Spirit-Red bats were hot and Sarah Morris was stellar on the mound as the Spirit cruised to a 7-2 victory over the Diamond State Swoop.  Mallory Yant's lead-off single in the second inning started a rally. 


Bracket Game #1 v. Lady Irish (OH) - The Spirit-Red had an impressive 9-0 win over the Lady Irish of Ohio.  The Spirit took advantage of several fielding errors and timely hits to put them ahead early in the game.  A four-run third inning game the Spirit a commanding 7-0 lead.
