Florida Travel Ball maintains a USSSA Sanctioned Baseball League with the intent of providing the children of Leesburg and the surrounding area an opportunity to play organized recreational baseball without regard to race, religion, sex or ability to play.

A Leesburg Area Baseball commission administers the program and is charged with the responsibility of keeping the program operational with the children’s best interest in mind. The program does not serve the egos of parents, coaches, or other adults.

Age Divisions

Youth ages 4 thru 15 can play Leesburg Area Baseball. Six different age groups are offered. In addition, teams will be formed according to these guidelines listed below.

4U T-Ball – Cannot turn 5 years old before May 1st of current season.

6U T-Ball – Kindergarten and cannot turn 7 years old before May 1st of current season.

8U Machine Pitch – Cannot turn 9 years old before May 1st of current season.

10U - Cannot turn 11 years old before May 1st of current season.

12U – Cannot turn 13 years old before May 1st of current season.

13-15U – Cannot turn 16 years old before May 1st of current season.

Age Cutoff for 2010

The cutoff date is May 1, 2010. The 2010 season begins August 1, 2009 and concludes July 31, 2010. This means whatever age a player is on May 1, 2010 will be their age for the 2010 season both Fall & Spring.  USSSA allows all players to play “up” in a higher age bracket.

It is the belief of USSSA Baseball that these changes will enhance the opportunities for all players to play the game of baseball in a fun and exciting atmosphere.
